Formosa 2, 3rd Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan, Completes Construction and Parallel Connection for 376MW

published 2023 年 03 月 25 日 9:30
The COVID-19 pandemic over recent years has impacted the construction progress of offshore wind farms around the world. With that being said, Taiwan, after completing 43 wind turbines for the first phase of the demonstration project at the end of 2021, had fully concluded construction and parallel connection for all 47 wind turbines of Formosa 2, the third offshore wind farm in Taiwan, on March 21st. The offshore wind farm will now join in on the generation of green electricity. ...  more

Experts Estimate Cost of Wind Energy to be Further Reduced by Up to 35% in 2035

published 2021 年 07 月 14 日 9:30
The cost of wind power will only continue to fall with the introduction of larger and more efficient wind turbines, as well as lower capitals and operating cost. According to the study of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), the cost of wind power is expected to decrease by 17-35% in 2035, followed by another reduction of 37-49% in 2050. ...  more

New Offshore Wind Power Installation in Taiwan to Reach Mere 490MW Owing to Impact from Pandemic

published 2021 年 07 月 14 日 9:30
Taiwan’s monsoons mean that offshore wind power installations can be carried out only six months every year. Unfortunately, the proliferation of the COVID-19 pandemic in 1H21 has delayed most of these installations. Taiwan’s MOEA (Ministry of Economic Affairs) subsequently declared that a total of 429 MW in wind power will likely be installed this year, with the shortfall in capacity to be compensated for by the end of 2022. ...  more
