Juwi Shizen Begins Construction of Canadian Solar’s Azuma Kofuji 1 Solar Power Plant

Earlier this April, Canadian Solar and Juwi Shizen Energy announced the commencement of the construction of the Azuma Kofuji 1 Solar Power Plant in Fukushima, Japan. Canadian Solar is the developer of this project, and Juwi Shizen Energy is the contracted EPC firm. UL Announces First In-Flight Lithium Battery Fire Containment Certification to Ensure Flight Safety

Spare lithium-ion batteries must not be placed inside check-in luggage, whereas electronic devices must be turned off before checking in, and there are also a restriction to the number of handheld devices allows when boarding, in order to avoid short circuit and fire from lithium-ion batteries or portable batteries that would trigger flight risks. Hai Long Offshore Wind Project Extends Cooperation with Siemens Gamesa by Expanding the Preferred Supplier Agreement to 1GW

After passing the “Industry Linkage Program” conditionally, Hai Long Offshore Wind Project has announced another good news, which is the expansion on the preferred supplier agreement with Siemens Gamesa. Apart from the existing 300MW Hai Long 2A Wind Farm, Hai Long 2B (232MW) and Hai Long 3 (512MW) will also be incorporated in the future, with the total installed capacity of the cooperation now arriving at 1,044MW (=1.04GW). ...  more

TPC: Peak Power Supply to Experience a YoY Increase of 1 Million kW During April

The electricity demand has already been surging since the start of April with summer yet to arrive. TPC commented recently that the public turning to domestic consumption under the impact from the COVID-19 pandemic has actuated a drastic growth in the domestic load that exceeded the anticipation of the company, and the power supply volume from April until now has experienced a YoY increase of almost 1 billion kW, as well as a YoY increase of 1 million kW during peak hours. ...  more
