Jingsheng to Acquire Screen Printing and Wafer Inspection Businesses from Applied Materials

Zhejiang Jingsheng (also known as JSG), a Chinese provider of silicon materials and related processing equipment, announced on July 30 that it will establish a joint venture with Applied Materials, a US-based provider of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This joint venture will then be used to acquire several business units from Applied Materials. Specifically, JSG is targeting the screen printing business in Italy, the wafer inspection business in Singapore, and other related business units in China. News agencies based in Germany reported in late June that Berlin’s House of Representatives passed the Berlin Solar Act. The law mandates that from 2023 onward, rooftop PV systems will have to be installed on new buildings and buildings undergoing major renovations.
