Chinese industrial conglomerate Shuangliang Group has announced that its subsidiary Shuangliang Silicon Materials (Baotou) has signed new contracts with compatriot equipment provider JSG and US-based Linton Kayex. Both deals are for the purchasing of crystal growing (pulling) furnaces and were signed on March 7. Chinese silicon wafer supplier Zhonghuan Semiconductor released its latest prices for PV wafers on March 4. The quote for wafers that are 182mm in diameter and 160μm in thickness came to RMB 6.65 per piece at the time of the announcement, showing a hike of RMB 0.25 from January 26. Saudi Government Awards PPAs for Al Rass and Saad PV Projects

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy announced on March 7 that the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) as the principal buyer has signed the PPAs for the Al (Ar) Rass and Saad PV Projects. Together, the two projects are set to have a generation capacity of around 1GW and entail a total investment of around USD 666 million.
