According to Wechat Official Account @pv-news, on April 11, Netherlands-based MCPV announced that it has received a €10 million grant to build a 2.5GW capacity solar module plant in Tudela, Spain.

The funding comes from a temporary allocation of nearly 300 million euros announced in March by Spain's Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenges (MITECO). The projects selected for funding are seen as key drivers of Spain's transition to clean energy.

Previously, MCPV has secured support from the Dutch National Growth Fund for a series of financing agreements totaling €4.2 million with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Province of Groningen, and the NOM Regional Development Agency for the construction of a 4GW-capacity solar cell manufacturing plant in Vendam, the Netherlands.

MCPV is focusing on HJT technology and plans to have both plants fully operational by 2029. construction of the 4GW solar cell plant is expected to start in late 2026, while the 2.5GW solar module plant will begin a year later. The approval process for both projects has already been initiated.
