Chinese companies sign another overseas PV project order

According to Official Account @PVTechCN, on the afternoon of April 10th, local time, Shanghai Electric signed a cooperation agreement for the 2GW photovoltaic project in Sedavi, Saudi Arabia, with Masdar Clean Energy Company.

The Sedawi PV project is part of the fifth round of Saudi Arabia's National Renewable Energy Program (NREP), and is the largest PV EPC project undertaken by Shanghai Electric to date. The project is located in the eastern part of Saudi Arabia and covers an area of about 40 square kilometers, which is equivalent to the size of 5,700 standard soccer fields.

After the completion of the project, it is expected to provide more than 6 billion kWh of electricity to the local community annually to meet the electricity needs of more than 700,000 households, and at the same time reduce 3 million tons of carbon emissions, which is of great significance to the optimization and upgrading of the Saudi energy structure and the realization of Saudi Arabia's “Vision 2030”.

It is understood that MASDAR is one of the largest energy developers in the Middle East, mainly engaged in the development of clean energy projects, project types include photovoltaic, wind power, energy storage projects, etc., which develops clean energy projects in more than 40 countries on six continents, with a cumulative development project installed capacity of 51GW.

According to the company's plan, it will reach over 100GW of new energy development and holdings globally by 2030.
