According to Official Ammount @gh_5d67ff58c348, on the chessboard of the global energy transition, Central and Eastern Europe is becoming the focus of a new round of games. On March 11, Sermatec Energy signed a 200MWh energy storage purchase contract with a Polish power developer, with product deliveries to begin in May 2025, according to Sermatec Energy's official microblog.

Since 2025, Poland is becoming an emerging hotbed for energy storage in Europe. Its role as the largest consumer of coal in the EU is accelerating the transformation of its energy mix under pressure to become carbon neutral in the EU. According to Polish government plans, the country will increase the share of renewable energy in electricity to 27% by 2030.

In September 2024, the EU approved €1.2 billion to support the installation of at least 5.4GWh of energy storage systems in Poland, and the government is offering up to 17 years of guaranteed revenue from capacity market contracts for energy storage projects.

According to Poland's capacity market auction data published in January 2025, the total awarded capacity of Poland's energy storage projects is about 2.5GW, which is a 47% increase from 1.7GW in 2024. Relevant organizations forecast that the size of Poland's new installed energy storage capacity will be 2.5GWh in 2026 and will reach 4.9GWh in 2027.

In this strategic cooperation with Polish Power Company, Sermatec Energy contributes to this strategic cooperation by virtue of its strong system integration capability, perfect supply chain guarantee capability and outstanding localized service capability. In the subsequent cooperation, Sermatec Energy will continue to exert its technical advantages and market experience in the fields of large storage, industrial and commercial storage and so on.

With the rise of the Polish energy storage market, more and more energy storage companies are attracted to seek opportunities to open the market.

Recently, some Chinese companies have successfully signed contracts to take the lead in the Polish market.

LG Energy Solution Wrocław, a subsidiary of global battery giant LG New Energy, has signed an agreement with Polish national power utility PGE Group to build a battery storage plant with a capacity of 262MW/981MWh in Żarnowiec, Poland.

On March 3, BYD Energy Storage signed an agreement with Greenvolt Group to provide 400MW/1.6GWh energy storage systems for 2 energy storage projects in Poland.
