According to Official Account BJX.CHUNNENG.COM, on February 24, 2025, CALB officially broke ground on its Portugal base.
The project plans to invest approximately €2 billion. Once completed, it will establish a 15GWh annual production capacity for batteries and systems applied in the mobility and energy storage sectors. As the industry's first zero-carbon AI superfactory, it is scheduled to begin deliveries in 2027.
For CALB, this marks an important beginning in building a long-term partnership with Portugal and a key milestone in achieving global deliveries and accelerating its international expansion.
