On December 10, Hubei Jingmen New Energy and New Materials Industrial Park, the first phase of EVE Energy's 60GWh super plant commissioning project was completed and put into operation, with a capacity of 17GWh.
The plant, which started drilling in August 2023 and is currently undergoing 24-hour continuous commissioning, will mainly produce MB56 large lithium iron storage batteries (628Ah), which will soon become the first 600Ah+ ultra-large-capacity battery cell to be mass-produced in China.
In October 2024, EVE Energy said at its investor relations event that EVE Energy's product planning is firmly pursuing large lithium iron, which is mainly oriented towards the peaking scenario and realizes large-scale rapid deployment at the system level.
After the mass production of the 628Ah product of EVE Energy, it will be the first large Ah energy storage product with mass production capability in the industry. In the context of overseas projects starting to move towards long-time energy storage of 4 hours and above, this product will fit the market demand for long-time energy storage.
At the commissioning ceremony, a product signing ceremony was held between EVE Energy and a number of domestic and international energy storage companies, such as Goldwind, Powin, and Lin Yang Energy, as well as the National Innovation Center for New Energy Storage. Among them, in the cooperation with the National Innovation Center for New Energy Storage, EVE Energy's 628Ah battery core products will be used in the pilot demonstration projects of the national new energy storage on a large scale.
The promotion of domestic and international cooperation will obviously accelerate the typical application of this model. And along with the mass production of ultra-large capacity battery cells, the product design of the DC side of the energy storage system will usher in a new round of changes.
