Recently, Trina Storage, the world's leading provider of energy storage products and solutions, signed a project supply agreement with Lower 48 Energy, an independent power producer in the UK, to provide energy storage systems and solutions including Trina Storage Elementa for the Preston project in the UK. Yang Bao, President of Global Marketing of Trina Solar, Gabriele Buccini, Head of Energy Storage Business of Trina Solar Europe, and Hugh Mainwaring, Chief Executive Officer of Lower 48 Energy witnessed this moment together.

The project will use the Trina Storage Elementa system and is expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2024 and officially commissioned in 2025. Upon commissioning, the project will enhance the stability of the local power grid and improve arbitrage capacity, storing and supplying 66 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually to meet the electricity needs of 22,750 households, further promoting renewable energy generation and making a significant contribution to the global energy transition.

Trina Storage Elementa is a high-performance grid-level liquid-cooled energy storage system that integrates the second-generation self-developed TrinaCore, which can be used in multiple application scenarios on the power generation side, the grid side, and the user side, and has significant advantages such as cost-effectiveness, ultimate safety, convenience and flexibility, and intelligent operation and maintenance. In terms of safety, Trina Storage Elementa has passed many international safety standards, including UL, IEC and UN. At the end of 2023, Trina Storage launched Elementa 2, a new generation of flexible liquid-cooled battery chambers, which have been released globally.

As an emerging independent power producer in the UK market, Lower 48 Energy chose Trina's vertically integrated solution capabilities and localised service capabilities to provide strong support for the project.

Hugh Mainwaring, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lower 48 Energy, said, ‘We chose Trina Storage because of the company's excellent track record in delivering similar systems, and we were confident in the reliability, experience and strong financial strength of the Trina Solar Group. By working well with Trina Storage's engineering team in the U.K., we are confident that Elementa will meet our needs.Trina Storage's local engineering expertise is critical to the whole and we look forward to the project moving forward smoothly.’
