Boviet Solar Technology stated that renovation work at its manufacturing plant in Greenville, North Carolina is progressing as planned.
The first phase of the project, focused on upgrading the existing facility, began construction in the third quarter of this year. The plant will produce Gamma series monofacial and Vega series bifacial photovoltaic modules, with mass production expected to start next year. Key infrastructure upgrades and installation of production equipment are currently underway. The second phase of the project involves building a new factory.
Sienna Cen, President of Boviet Solar USA, said: “Once the new facility is completed, it will produce 2GW of photovoltaic modules and 2GW of cells annually, supporting the U.S. solar supply chain and the country’s transition to clean energy. This project not only highlights North Carolina's role as a leader in renewable energy but also creates significant economic benefits for the local community.”
Boviet Solar manufactures monocrystalline cells and Gamma series monofacial and Vega series bifacial photovoltaic modules, and also develops solar projects. As of January this year, the company stated that its annual manufacturing capacity for cells and photovoltaic modules was 3GW.
