On September 22, Canadian Solar's Energy Storage Integration System Factory Project started construction in Suzhou Hi-Tech Zone, Jiangsu Province, the project will introduce energy storage system integration and other advanced technology production lines, which will achieve an annual output value of about 15 billion yuan after reaching production.
In addition, Canadian Solar will also build the Group's headquarters in Suzhou Hi-Tech Zone, further deepening and increasing the new photovoltaic energy storage and other cutting-edge fields, adding strong momentum to the high-quality development of the zone.
It is reported that Canadian Solar's energy storage integrated system factory project is a customized project for Canadian Solar's capital increase and production expansion in the high-tech zone, with a total investment of about 1 billion yuan, and planning to build 8 production lines for the production and assembly of battery modules as well as the integration of energy storage systems, with an expected annual production capacity of 4,000 sets of energy storage integrated systems after the completion of the project. The project is implemented by the company under SND Group, and is scheduled to be completed in the first half of 2025.
As the world's leading total solution provider of photovoltaic and energy storage, Canadian Solar has been deeply plowing into the high-tech zone for many years. In recent years, it has even been upgrading and upgrading, leading the establishment of Suzhou Advanced PV Technology Innovation Consortium in 2022 and listing on the Science and Technology Innovation Board in 2023, and its number of patent applications and authorizations have ranked the leading position in the global PV industry for many consecutive years.
In the first half of this year, Canadian Solar's energy storage business realized sales of 2.6GWh, a year-on-year increase of 3309%. By the end of the first half of the year, e-STORAGE, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar, had a reserve of about 66GWh of orders for energy storage systems, with signed contracts on hand amounting to US$2.6 billion, including long-term service contracts to provide services for projects already delivered by the Company.
