Recently, e-STORAGE, the energy storage subsidiary of Canadian Solar, signed a turnkey EPC contract with Fotowatio Renewable Ventures Australia ("FRV Australia") to provide a 100MW/200MWh energy storage solution for FRV's "Tran" energy storage project in Victoria, Australia. FRV, which is part of Jameel Energy and Canadian pension fund OMERS, is a leading global developer of sustainable energy solutions.

e-STORAGE and FRV Australia have signed an energy storage supply agreement and a long-term service agreement. The project is scheduled to begin construction in August 2024 and is expected to create a large number of jobs during the construction and operation phases.

Under the agreement, the "Terang" project will utilize e-STORAGE's latest SolBank 3.0 energy storage system solution, which is capable of achieving more than 5MWh of rated storage capacity in a standard 20-foot container. Compared to its predecessor, the energy storage capacity has been increased by 45% while the project layout space has been reduced by 12%.SolBank 3.0 is equipped with a highly efficient cooling system that reduces auxiliary energy consumption by 30%. In addition, multi-level fire detection, alarm and extinguishing devices are integrated within the system to effectively reduce the risk of thermal runaway.
