Envision Energy recently secured another major contract in the UK to supply large-scale energy storage for the Cellarhead project, which will provide a battery energy storage system. The Cellarhead project, with a capacity of 300MW/624MWh, is expected to begin construction this year and be connected to the grid by 2026. Once completed, it will become one of the largest energy storage facilities in the UK.

The Cellarhead project further validates Envision Energy's leading position in the UK market. In 2023, Envision Energy received 1.5GWh of new orders in the UK market, and to date, it has delivered large-scale energy storage projects such as Wormald Green, Wilton, and Hawthorn Pit, with a cumulative delivery of over 1GWh.

Envision Energy will collaborate with Ameresco, a US-based company, to provide EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and O&M (Operations and Maintenance) services to the project investor, Atlantic Green. Ameresco will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, and long-term maintenance of the Cellarhead project, while Envision Energy will provide the complete set of AC and DC energy storage equipment, as well as the site SCADA and EMS systems.

Once operational, the Cellarhead project will serve as a critical energy storage facility, enhancing the UK's energy supply and grid reliability, contributing to the UK's energy independence and its 2050 net-zero emissions target.

Xu Gang, Global Vice President of Envision Energy, stated, "Battery storage technology is the cornerstone of a sustainable energy system. Our collaboration with Atlantic Green and Ameresco allows us to demonstrate how advanced energy storage solutions play a key role in enhancing energy security and achieving a seamless transition to renewable energy. We are pleased to contribute our leading technology to this milestone project in the UK."

Atlantic Green, founded in 2021, is a joint venture between Nofar Energy and Interland Group, focused on investing, developing, and operating grid-scale independent energy storage plants across the UK, with a development capacity target of 2GW. The Cellarhead project is a milestone in Atlantic Green's sustainability goals.

Envision Energy is a global leader in smart energy storage systems, with full-stack technical capabilities and solutions. In 2023, it ranked fourth in China and fifth globally in shipment volume. Currently, Envision Energy has participated in over 200 projects worldwide, delivering more than 10GWh, with 15GWh of orders in hand.
