Drinda plans to invest an annual output of 5GW high-efficiency battery production base project in Oman

On July 26, Drinda issued an announcement on the proposed investment in the Oman's annual output of 5GW high-efficiency cell production base project. According to the announcement, the company intends to invest in the construction of a 5GW high-efficiency battery production base in the Sohar Free Trade Zone in the Sultanate of Oman, with an estimated total investment of 280 million US dollars, which is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2025.

The investment, operation and management body of the project is Jietai New Energy Technology (Oman) Suhar Free Trade Zone Co., Ltd., which plans to build a new high-efficiency battery production plant with an annual output of 5GW and supporting buildings, etc.. The project has a total construction land of about 400 mu (the actual area is subject to the approval of the local competent authority), and the construction period is about 9 months.

The local PV market in the Middle East is gradually emerging, and its new PV installed capacity continues to grow, with strong development prospects. The investment and construction of the project is conducive to Drinda to make full use of Oman's location and resource advantages and give full play to the company's photovoltaic cell core technology advantages, promote the effective layout of the company's overseas advanced battery production capacity, flexibly respond to the complex and changeable international trade environment, radiate the Middle East, Europe and the United States market, and promote the company's business development in the international market.

据悉,2024 年一季度,钧达股份实现海外销售 4.31 亿元,海外销售占比进一步大幅提升至 11.62%。为进一步满足海外光伏市场需求,公司拟布局海外高效电池产能, 持续加强光伏电池海外市场供应能力。此前,钧达股份与阿曼投资署签署了《投资意向协议》,拟在阿曼投资建设年产 10GW TOPCon 高效光伏电池产能。项目投资金额约为 7亿美元,分两期实施,每期 5GW。

It is reported that in the first quarter of 2024, Drinda achieved overseas sales of 431 million yuan, and the proportion of overseas sales further increased significantly to 11.62%. In order to further meet the needs of the overseas photovoltaic market, the company plans to deploy overseas high-efficiency cell production capacity and continue to strengthen the supply capacity of photovoltaic cells in overseas markets. Previously, Drinda signed an Investment Intent Agreement with the Oman Investment Agency to invest in the construction of an annual production capacity of 10GW of TOPCon high-efficiency photovoltaic cells in Oman. The investment amount of the project is about US$700 million, and it will be implemented in two phases of 5GW each.
