Gensol Engineering has emerged as the winner of a 250 MW/500 MWh standalone BESS project tendered by GUVNL, securing 70 MW/140 MWh of capacity through tariff-based competitive bidding. In response to this, the company will undertake the development of the project to cater to GUVNL's energy storage needs on an on-demand basis.
Once operational, the project will facilitate the provision of electricity to Gujarat's electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs) as required, during both peak and off-peak hours. With the capacity to deliver 70 MW/140 MWh energy for two charge/discharge cycles daily, the project would significantly contribute to addressing the energy demands of the state.
