On February 4, Shenzhen Gas announced that its holding subsidiary Jiangsu Sveck Photovoltaic New Material will set up a plant for the manufacturing of encapsulation films used in PV modules. The annual production capacity of the plant is set at 420 million square meters. Svek plans to invest no more than RMB 1.3641685 billion in this project, though the investment amount and the scale of the project may be changed in the future in accordance with the actual market situation.
The plant will be built over two phases. The first phase will comprise 16 film production lines with a total production capacity of around 120 million square meters per year. The second phase will comprise 40 production lines with a total production capacity of around 300 million square meters. The first phase is scheduled to begin construction in early 2023 and enter operation by the second quarter of the year. The start date for the construction of the second phase will follow the completion of the first phase. The exact date, however, will be determined by the actual market situation. Besides 40 production lines, multi-functional office buildings and supporting facilities will also be erected in the second phase.
