The Awayspeed electric tricycle developed by ADATA was officially delivered to Kerry Logistics today, and it won’t be long before we see this multifunctional tricycle on the road.
The electric tricycle Awayspeed under ADATA had aroused quite a bit of attention on the day of its announcement thanks to the flexibility and powerful carrying capacity configured on the vehicle. The first unit of Awayspeed was officially delivered to Kerry Logistics today and will become a member of the home delivery fleet.
Awayspeed, compared to four-wheeled vehicles, has merely 2.5m of gyroradius, and is able to maneuver through narrow alleys with its one-button reversing function. The electric tricycle can hold up to 200kg of load, which is 4-5 times to that of two-wheelers on the market, and offers 110km of continuous driving on horizontal slope that drastically conserves handling time and physical strengths of logistics personnel, as well as resolves insufficient logistics manpower, so as to elevate logistics efficiency as a whole.
In addition, Awayspeed is also the only electric tricycle in Taiwan right now that conforms to the EU’s L5e cornering stability regulations for vehicles, and incorporates transportation efficiency and driving safety simultaneously. Kerry Logistics hopes to lower carbon emission by incorporating low carbon carriers that would facilitate the company in gradually marching sustainable development targets of net zero emission and carbon reduction.
Kerry Logistics is the first client of Awayspeed, and successive deliveries will go to other e-commerce, logistics, and local foundations in the second half of 2021 subsequently. It is noteworthy that Awayspeed can be configured with a cold chain, and is thus able to serve as a short range carrier in transporting medical suppliers and other goods that need to be kept under a low temperature, which makes it a relatively efficient transportation method for rural and remote areas.
Aside from Awayspeed, Aeon Motor’s Ai-2 Gather is also adopted by the commercial and logistics segment of the Taiwanese market. Both tricycles are produced by Aeon Motor, and are configured with Gogoro’s battery swapping system. With Ai-2 now partnering with Momo and Lalamove, and Awayspeed working with clients such as Momo, HCT Logistics and Kerry Logistics, these electric tricycles are about to become a part of the new streetscape between second half of 2022 and 2023, and symbolize Taiwan’s small yet significant step towards low carbon transportation.
