The global wave of net zero carbon emissions and the trend of carbon border adjustment mechanisms in Europe and the United States have become a global consensus. Advantech announced today that it has signed a letter of intent for cooperation with Tsai Ying Clean Energy. The two parties will work together to build the first self-made hydrogen-powered electric bus in Taiwan and jointly conduct market development at home and abroad in response to the global 2050 net-zero carbon emissions goal.
Advantech AVP of Industrial IoT Sector, Ming Chih Chiang, pointed out that, based on the corporate vision of "Promoting a Smart Earth," Advantech hopes to become a smart driver for a sustainable Earth with its own sustainable solutions. Therefore, in the past two years, in addition to actively formulating green operations, environmental management, and greenhouse gas emission intensity goals, the company has reached for solutions related to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are consistent with the MOEA’s proposal to invest in key technology research and development within ten years and is expect to achieve net-zero carbon emissions transportation targets such as vehicle electrification by 2030.
Advantech Director of Service IoT Group, Van Lin, pointed out that Advantech has been actively cooperating with global electric bus partners since 2018 to realize the vision of low-carbon green energy transportation. This cooperation will provide a smart bus management cloud platform and TREK in-vehicle computer solutions. , AI vehicle safety management, vehicle diagnosis, and in-vehicle audio-visual interactive services and other software and hardware integration solutions are used in Tsai Ying's hydrogen-powered electric buses, which is expected to improve the driving safety and efficiency of hydrogen-powered electric buses.
Chairman of Tsai Ying, Ying Hao Cheng, stated that all countries in the world are committed to carbon neutral policies. After repeated discussions, the team confirmed that hydrogen electric buses are the ultimate product in the large electric public bus category. The first hydrogen-powered electric bus in Taiwan is expected to take advantage of Advantech's global marketing channels to gradually promote this vehicle to the world.
Ying Hao Cheng pointed out that Advantech and Tsai Ying hope to use this cooperation to improve the proportion of self-made domestic hydrogen electric buses and international competitive advantages. The first hydrogen electric bus in Taiwan is expected to be completed by the end of 2022, in response to the global 2050 net-zero carbon emissions target.
