Golden Glass Announces That Its Production Lines for HJT Cells and Modules Will Soon Enter Mass Production Phase

Guangdong Golden Glass Technologies Ltd. (Golden Glass) announced on February 25 that its first production line for microcrystalline HJT cells had completed pilot production and met all the basic technical requirements. Hence, the production line is expected to soon enter the mass production phase. Before that, the company will still have to conduct trial runs on several equipment systems and the complementing automation technologies to ensure that the entire production line will operate smoothly and be ready for large-scale output. This story was first reported by local Chinese news outlets.

Golden Glass is a new entrant in the PV market and has invested around RMB 832 million through its subsidiary Wujiang Golden Glass Technologies Ltd. to set up 1.2GW of integrated production capacity for HJT products in China’s Jiangsu Province.

The company first revealed the plan to set up cell and module production lines in Jiangsu last June. The equipment installation for the cell production line was completed by last December. Currently, the cell production line is almost ready for operation, while some works and tests are still being done on the module production line. Generally speaking, the company is progressing on schedule with its capacity building.

Golden Glass told local news outlets that capping CO2 emissions and achieving carbon neutrality will be the driving force behind the company’s activities in the future. Furthermore, the company will be fully behind the promotion of HJT cells and their applications so as to contribute to the “greening” of other industrial sectors. According to earlier news reports, the integrated production base in Jiangsu will be supplying modules featuring large-size, half-cut HJT cells. The company previously stated that its cell production line will be compatible with 182mm and 210mm wafers, and some of its HJT 3.0 equipment systems have been developed in-house.
