Tesla is in the process of developing a new energy storage system, dubbed "Megapack," which will be applied in the Moss Landing substation of utility firm PG&E, according to media report.
The company plans to install 449 Megapacks, each containing a 23-feet (meter) PV cell, for PG&E,. Capacity of Megapack reaches 2,673 kWh, 12 times that of Powerpack 2. Megapack is as large as a container.
The California Public Utilities Commission already approved the project last month.
