VehicleTrend -- on 18th October, in 309A Meeting Hall in Beijing National Convention Centre, the Summit of Global Industry Development Trend of Intelligent and New Energy Vehicles, held by TrendForce and VehicleTrend, co-organized by Beijing Auto Square, supported by China Council for Promotion of International Trade Machinery Sub-Council, AutoKnow, Global Auto Media and China Electrotechnical Society, finished successfully.
The summit was attended by 300 plus Party delegates from auto makers, auto spare part makers, investment and securities companies, media, etc. The first summit of VehicleTrend with packed attendees means a lot to us.
▲Zhou Weidong, Vice President of China Council for Promotion of International Trade Machinery Sub-Council
▲Dong Yunchang, General Manager of TrendForce China
The summit was kicked off by an opening from Mr. Zhou Weidong, Vice President of China Council for Promotion of International Trade Machinery Sub-Council, followed by the speech of Dong Yunchang, General Manager of TrendForce China.
▲Signing a strategic cooperation agreement
Dong signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Yu Xinmin, President of AutoKnow to strengthen cooperation in auto industry development.
▲Consultant Dr Tim Pai from Topology Research Institute (TRI) of TrendForce Group
Dr Tim shared his insight on the development trend of autonomous driving. He expected the research for autonomous driving to burgeon. On one hand, evolving technologies at the supply side and demands from customers are expanding the market of automated driving. On the other hand, there are concerns about the uncertainty during the development of automotive networking on the path to bring automated vehicles to the public. Dr Tim also pointed out that autonomous driving would not grow dramatically but slowly progress.
▲Duff Lu, Senior Research Manager of EnergyTrend, a division of TrendForce
Duff Lu delivered his speech on changes of new energy vehicles trend, battery materials and battery dynamics. He said that the current battery field is about to experience a shake-up and these top battery enterprises have advantages in terms of finance and production capacity.
▲Tang Xinning, CTO from ZTE SMART AUTO
Tang showed the unmanned vehicles battle in a clip of Fast and Furious 8 to point out the importance of intelligent vehicles security. He also introduced ZTE’s solution for vehicle information security.
▲Cheng Yabing, Solution Architect of Automotive Dept. from NVIDIA
Cheng introduced the present development and future’s trend of the global auto electronic chips. He claimed that one of biggest challenges in the AI application to autonomous driving is decision making and path planning, because of the complex road conditions. Many of companies are trying to overcome such issues with reinforcement learning.
▲Tang Jinsong, the Business Development Manager of Aisa from Quanergy System Inc.
Tang introduced the solutions of Quanergy solid LiDAR. He believes that there are many ways for achieving autonomous driving, such as mechanical LiDAR, full and mixed solid state LiDAR based on phased array radar, etc. No matter which way is adopted, the key is to achieve industrialization.
▲Jiang Hong, the Director from Texas Instrument, China Central FAEs and System, Embedded Processing, Semiconductor Group
Jiang presented the application of TI MMW (millimeter wave) radar chip for ADAS and autonomous driving.
Transcript of each speech will later be published on www.vehicle-trend.com.
