Swiss equipment manufacturer Meyer Burger starts its business in 2017 with two MAiA 2.1 technology contracts with existing Asian customers for a total amount of about CHF 20 million (approximately US$19.6 million).
MAiA is one of the world’s most-adopted platform for producing PERC cells, and it has won many contracts from Asian manufacturers such as those basing in China. Two existing Asian customers has booked to purchase MAiA 2.1 platforms using updated MB PERC cell technology, amounting to a combined contract volume of about CHF 20 million.
Delivery and commissioning of the equipment is scheduled to start as of the second quarter of 2017. While both of the orders are reflected in the incoming orders and order backlog 2016.
In December 2016, Meyer Burger increase its capital by CHF 164.5 million by offering 456,851,800 new registered shares, of which 99.9% were traded.
