The largest PV plant in Europe is expected to be built in Portugal, with the capacity reaching 221MW upon completion. A Chinese manufacturer has been assigned for this PV plant’s engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) service. The amount of the contract reached 200 million.
China National Building Materials (CNBM) signed an EPC contract in the UK for the 221MW PV plant – Solara 4 Vaqueiros on November 22nd. This is not only the first EPC contract for CNBM in Portugal, but also the largest PV plant in Europe so far.
CNBM has relevant experiences in utility-scale project development (more than 200MW) in the UK. In fact, CNBM is in charge of the EPC for the top two PV plants in the UK. After signing the Contract of Solara 4 Vaqueiros, CNBM will become the largest EPC manufacturer in Europe.
While signing the Solara 4 Vaqueiros contract, CNBM also signed strategic cooperation agreement with YHG Group, WELink Group, and BHS for green town development in the UK. The UK plans to build 5,000 green buildings every year in the future. And they will use Chinese products for related green energy technology. CNBM will also be the EPC service provider for this project.
