Ecoplexus Puts 54MW of PV Projects into Operation

published: 2016-04-26 15:27

Ecoplexus, a PV project developer, has commissioned six solar PV projects, totaling 54MW in North Carolina. The six projects, reaching $79 million in project value, represent the completion of Ecoplexus' second and third portfolios in North Carolina, bringing the company one step further in its goal of playing a meaningful role in providing renewable solar power to the state.

54 MW of clean energy is enough to provide power to over 5,000 homes, and provide the reduction of approximately 56,000 metric tons of CO2 or almost 130,000 barrels of oil. These projects will be added to Ecoplexus' growing IPP asset base.

Currently, Ecoplexus has an additional 36 MW under construction in the U.S. and Japan. Overall, Ecoplexus anticipates financing and constructing a total of 120 MW in 2016 across its countries of operation. Ecoplexus also manages a development pipeline of approximately 1GW across twelve states and internationally.

"We recognize the need for clean renewable generation and are proud to contribute to North Carolina's Renewable Portfolio Standards," said John Gorman, CEO of Ecoplexus. "We plan to continue increasing our capacity of MW installed per year to address the added demand for renewables."
