SMA Solar Technology AG has announced its financial results for the year 2015. By delivering up to 7.3GW of inverter to the world, SMA kept its position as a world leader in the inverter industry.
The financial results show that the annual shipment growth from 2014 to 2015 was 43.7%, while the sales grew by 24% to EUR 999.6 million (2014: EUR 805.4 million). Positive operating earnings (EBIT) reached EUR 34.3 million, up from EUR -164.9 million in 2014. The sale growth increased net cash to EUR 285.6 million despote severance payments.
The sale growth was driven by stronger demands from large-scale PV power plants, yet the market improvement in residential and commercial systems also contributed. SMA’s international share rose significantly to 87.3% comparing to 78.3% in 2014 and the most important foreign markets were North America, Great Britain, Japan, and Australia.
