Eccopia, a provider of autonomous, waterless cleansing technology for solar PV modules, has awarded certification from First Solar. The certification means Eccopia can use their cleaning technology on First Solar’s PV modules.
Eccopia plays a leading role in the module cleaning industry. The company has awarded certifications from global manufacturers such as Trina Solar, Suntech and JA Solar. With First Solar as the most recent certifier, Eccopia further extends its market coverage around the world.
Eccopia’s cleaning robot is operated via mobile uplink so that it can provide consistent cleaning on a nightly basis. It uses long-lasting microfiber to clean the panels instead of traditional water and brush. The patented, certificated design also helps increase power output as well as reduce cleaning costs so that the revenue for site owners will be higher.
Eccopia has recently passed 100% of industry consulting firm PI Berlin’s accelerated stress tests for 20 years' worth of daily cleanings.
"Panel makers and solar site owners were without a good cleaning solution for a long time," says Ecoppia CEO Eran Meller. "With Ecoppia, we're simply addressing a market need - we're excited that the industry is responding so positively."
