China-based PV manufacturer and developer ET Solar has interconnected two solar PV plants, each 1.1MWp, in Antalya, Turkey through its subsidiary ET Solutions Istanbul. The grid connections marked ET Solar’s first two projects completed in the emerging market as well as the beginning of the company’s 60MW grid-connection plan for 2016.
The annual daylight hour of Antalya is as high as 3,000 hours so that it is suitable for developing solar energy. The Turkish government has been promoting energy revolutions and aims to increase the renewable energy share up to 30% by 2023, including 5GW of solar generations.
The projects completed by ET Solar were initially developed by the owner, who has an engineering company in Antalya. ET Solar further designed the project from scratch and amended the existing license.
“We began by providing our world-class PV modules, expanded into EPC, O&M services, and have now established our own, local subsidiary, ” Dennis She, ET Solar’s President and CEO, said.
ET Solar has secured approximately 100MW of solar power portfolios in Turkey. The company begins constructing and grid connecting the portfolios following the connections of the two 1.1MW projects. Both projects utilize ET Solar’s PV modules, type ET-P672305WW/WB 305W, for higher power generations.
Turkey is included in China’s “One belt, One road” policy, while ET Solar responses the policy by establishing ET Solution Istanbul in August of 2015 for local services and market development.
