Topper Sun, a subsidiary of Taiwan-based PV manufacturer Big Sun Group, and Graess Solar, a global EPC service provider from Swiss, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU). Graess Solar will use 100MW of Topper Sun’s iPV™ Solar Tracker for global solar projects, while Topper Sun will ensure technical support, consulting services and product quality.
The iPV™ Solar Tracker system features an exclusively patented, unique cable-drawn drive mechanism with a universal axis. With the iPVSYS monitoring and control system, the iPV Solar Trackers can increase power output of a solar system compared to fixed systems by up to 45%. Topper Sun signed strategic agreements respectively with Shenzhen Yingli New Energy Resources Co., Ltd and Xingjian TBEA in 2014 to supply the global-leading companies with iPV Solar Trackers. Moreover, Topper Sun has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Sino-American Silicon Products Inc. (SAS) to distribute the patented product in Germany and Italy.
Established in Germany in 1994, Graess Solar is an international provider of EPC, O&M, and project developing, investing and purchasing. The MOU signed with Graess Solar will authorize the Swiss company to distribute iPV Solar Trackers in countries except Germany and Italy.
“In such a competitive market, we are appreciate that more and more companies start to trust in the quality of iPV™ Solar Tracker,” said Summer Lo, Chairman of Big Sun Group. “Solar power will be one of the most important energy resources in the future, while iPV solar trackers will optimize the energy conversion efficiency. We hope to provide our service to more countries around the world and build the ‘Made in Taiwan’ reputation internationally.”
In 2013, the iPV™ Solar Tracker was awarded the National Industrial Innovation Award presented by Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs. At the 2015 SNEC PV Power Expo, the iPV™ Solar Tracker achieved a “Top 10 Highlights Award.” Currently, the iPV™ Solar Tracker has received worldwide patents in 37 countries, including all 28 EU countries, with more applications pending.
