Dominion Acquires CID Solar Facility in California

Dominion, a U.S.-based producers and transporter of energy, announced that it has closed on the acquisition of the 20MW ac CID Solar Project near Corcoran, California from EDF Renewable Energy on December 11th, 2014. The Project started commencing operations on December 22nd.

Dominion has a portfolio of approximately 24,900 MW of generation, 10,900 miles of natural gas transmission, gathering and storage pipeline and 6,400 miles of electric transmission lines. It also operates one of the U.S.’s largest natural gas storage systems with 947 billion cubic feet of storage capacity and serves utility and retail energy customers in 10 states. Currently, through Dominion Solar Holdings, the company has 345 MW of solar generating capacity under development or in operation in California, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Tennessee and Utah.

The acquisition agreement of the 20-MW ac facility was previously announced in June 2014, and the conditions has been completed and closed in December. After commencing operations, the project will start providing power to the San Francisco-based electric utility Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) under a 20-year power purchase agreement.

Terms of the CID transaction are not available.
