All Tigo has had their smart module products conformed with NEC 2014 690.12 Rapid Shutdown additional functionality requirement. This feature is available immediately for all Smart Modules using Tigo’s industry leading technology or Tigo’s retrofit optimizers.
Intertek laboratories (ETL) verified through testing Tigo’s smart module technology and confirmed it is meeting the Rapid Shutdown requirements of NEC 2014, 690.12 (1) through (4). This testing, performed by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) verifies that the controlled conductors of a PV system equipped with Tigo’s technology are limited to no more than 30 volts and 240 volt-amperes within 10 seconds of rapid shutdown initiation.
“We’re pleased to announce the successful completion of testing for rapid shutdown functionality in our smart module line of products,” said Sam Arditi, CTO of Tigo Energy. “Tigo’s technology is already on the forefront of safe solar best practices and this further demonstrates our commitment to smart, safe solar.”
