The Philips Site & Area Solar Solution combines solar panels, solar battery and LED luminaire to meet green and sustainable targets.

Knowing the importance of renewable energies, Philips optimized the combination of LED technology and solar power to produce the Site & Area Solution. This Solution can help rural and remote communities that may not have access to electricity to have a safer and enjoyable environment through a self-sufficient way.
On the top of the light pole, it installed a set of solar panels. When the sun shines during the day, the solar panels convert solar energy to electrical energy and store it in the solar battery hanged on the pole. The battery releases electricity during the night to power the LED luminaire and hence the area can be lit up even without electrical grid. This product can also be combined with intelligent controls for advanced protections.
