SolarEdge Technologies will showcase its products at Solarexpo in Milano, Italy. Power optimization provides clear advantages for PV systems: flexible string design allowing installation on roofs with multiple orientations, up to 25% added energy yield, module-level visibility and safe DC voltage. Over 6,000 SolarEdge systems have been installed in Italy in the past two years. Numerous systems are expected to be connected in the coming months, especially in light of the latest introduction of a 50% tax credit for systems below 20kW.
The SolarEdge line of power optimizers now includes two new models with unique value to the Italian market: the OPI power optimizer, which features the Intersolar award winning IndOP™ technology, and the OP600 power optimizer which is specially designed for commercial PV systems. The OPI can operate with any third party PV inverter without the need for interface hardware. This makes the OPI optimizer suitable for retrofitting existing installations, offering system owners a boost in energy yield.
The new OP600 power optimizer allows for the connection of two 60 cell modules to one power optimizer with module-level monitoring included. By this the OP600 reduces both installed costs and maintenance costs of commercial systems through flexible design capabilities and optimizer-level monitoring. Lower lifetime expenses and increased energy yield help lower the cost of energy with a SolarEdge system, making it increasingly competitive with grid electricity prices.
