Taiwan ranks as the world’s second largest PV cell manufacturing base worldwide and holds 17% market share in PV cell production. And last year, combined Taiwan-China output supplied the world with more than 70% of its PV cells. As joint suppliers Taiwan and the PRC hold more than 50% market share of C-Si cells and module production capacity.

SEMI estimates that Taiwan over the next four years will replace 2.5~3 GW of energy with PV, mostly through upgrades or replacements on the current power grid.

PV Taiwan 2012 features pavilions on PV cells/modules/systems, HCPV, and DSSC to bridge the market with the latest systems and technology. There’s the inspiring “Academic Poster Section” and “New Products & Solutions Outlook” to spotlight the latest stirrings in turning on PV.
