Solgen Energy Awarded 1.25MW Solar Contract with Sydney City Council

The Council of the City of Sydney has awarded Solgen Energy a contract to design, procure and install over 1.25MW of solar power installations across the city’s buildings.

The project incorporates both traditional rooftop crystalline photovoltaic (PV) systems and building integrated PV (BIPV) structures. Each system has been designed to optimise output and returns across the selected sites.

The competitive tender process recognised Solgen Energy’s significant credentials as a commercial and industrial solar system integrator with experience across Australia.

David Naismith, Director of Solgen Energy commented, “We are delighted to be working with Council on a project that delivers outstanding results from both an environmental and financial perspective.”

“Council has made a very savvy investment in solar. Over the life of the systems electricity provided from the solar systems will cost less than power from the grid. The significant reduction in the price of solar over the last couple of years has played to Council’s advantage.”
