Gamesa, a global technology leader in wind energy, has just signed a deal to supply 48 MW of capacity of its G87-2.0 MW Class S wind turbine to Chinese company Huadian Group for a wind farm the power company built in Liyushan of Fujian Province.
All the machines will be started to deliver to the site from 31st of August this year.
G87-2.0 MW Class S wind turbine includes design improvements to be able to be installed in close to Class I condition sites, increasing energy production compared to the former G80-2.0 MW Class I by more than 8%.
Joint cooperation between Gamesa and Huadian New Energy were back to 2005 in Inner Mongolia.
That long-term partnership not only helps to shoot confidence into both sides but serves as a solid foundation for more than 420 MW in projects (the new one included). The contract of the specially designed machines will definitely open a new cooperation platform for the two sides.
3,000 turbines installed in China
Gamesa in China operates as a turbine manufacturer and wind farm developer, a competitive advantage it strengthens through joint ventures with the country's major power companies (at a global and provincial level), thanks to its comprehensive knowledge of the wind energy industry.
Gamesa has operated in China since 2000, installing close to 3,000 turbines at more than 60 sites across the country.
As a wind farm developer, the company's joint development pipeline in China now totals around 3,000 MW.
