By attracting PV giants from five continents, gathering 2,200 exhibitors, and covering 200,000 sqm space, the world’s largest PV show---“SNEC 6th (2012) International Photovoltaic Power Generation Conference & Exhibition” [SNEC (2012) PV POWER EXPO]”, is set to open at Shanghai New International Expo Centre, China on May 16, 2012.
In spite of the downturn of the global PV industry, there are still over 2,200 companies from 90 countries and regions coming all the way to Shanghai to attend the annual SNEC PV Power Expo. What does this situation imply on earth? Is it forecasting that the PV industry will get rid of the fuzzy clouds and dust of the freezing winter and walk towards a bright spring? According to statistics, the proportion of foreign exhibitors has increased from 35% to 40% of total, and most of the global PV giants and well-known enterprises have taken their places. First-class domestic PV enterprises include Suntech Power, Yingli Green Energy, JA Solar, LDK Solar and other first-class PV enterprises, while top foreign PV giants include REC，SMA，Hanwha-SolarOne，OCI，Dupont，etc. Suntech, which was granted “Top Brand PV”recently by European authoritative market research institute EuPD Reserch, will showcase their latest 350W Vd Superpoly Module at the show. Moreover, system integrators are flooding in this year, which indicates that investment on the system integration of solar PV power station would become the new tendency. The perspective markets will be in China, South Asia and other developing countries where there are the emerging and promising lands for solar PV.
It is estimated that there will be about 200,000 visitor attendances to the event, among which there are a great number of officials from government departments of various regions, and related professionals from different fields such as electronic machinery, real estate development, architecture design, and contracting projects.
