Broadwind Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: BWEN) announced strong fourth-quarter orders, including a $23 million order for wind turbine towers. The tower order was Broadwind’s first order from a leading U.S. wind turbine manufacturer and will encompass towers for various domestic wind projects. The towers will be produced in Broadwind’s Manitowoc, Wisconsin facility for delivery during the second half of 2012.
President & CEO Peter Duprey stated, “Fourth-quarter orders were strong across each of our business segments including gearing, towers and services. We are well positioned for revenue growth in 2012. We are delighted to win our first tower order with a major new customer—this fits with our strategy to further diversify our customer base.”
