With reference to Vestas Wind Systems A/S’ company announcement No. 47/2010 of 16 December 2010, Vestas has received a 79.2 MW order for 44 V100-1.8 MW turbines from Ridgeline Energy, LLC, for the Rockland wind-energy project near American Falls, Idaho, USA.
“We look forward to working with Ridgeline on its Rockland wind energy project,” said Martha Wyrsch, President of Vestas Americas. “Ridgeline is a highly respected and experienced developer of commercial-scale wind power projects and we are delighted to serve them as one of our new customers.”
The contract includes delivery and commissioning along with a 10-year service and maintenance agreement. Delivery is scheduled for mid-2011 and commissioning is expected in late 2011.
“They will receive high-quality turbines that are suited for low- and medium-wind speed areas,” Wyrsch said. “This project will provide direct and indirect economic benefits to the American Falls community in terms of long-term jobs and property-tax revenues generated from the turbines.”
This is Vestas’ second announced order this year for a wind-power project in Idaho.
