Wei Qidong, the secretary general of Jiangsu photovoltaic industry association, believes that China has become the biggest solar battery manufacturing country in the world, with the solar battery production capacity of 4.1GWp in 2009, accounting for 37.6% of the world production, among of which the Jiangsu province has produced around 2.3 GWp crystal silicon cell. Besides, Suntech and GCL-Poly in Jiangsu province are among the largest crystal silicon producers in the world.
The photovoltaic industry in Jiangsu province has formed the completed industry chain, where more than 300 enterprises and companies are involved in the solar application products. 8 cooperations are successfully listed abroad, and around 20 companies have the production value of more than RMB 1 billion Yuan.
