Vestas has signed a global supply agreement for delivery of 400 MW in 2011-2014. The contract, which includes an option for an additional 1,000 MW, has been awarded by a company with worldwide operations.
The contract comprises supply, installation, commissioning and a two-to-ten-year service agreement. The turbines under this contract will be delivered and installed at different wind sites in several countries all over the world. Delivery is scheduled to start in 2011 and is expected to be completed before the end of 2014.
After a highly competitive process, Vestas has been selected as the preferred supplier on the grounds of its undisputable global reach combined with a strong local presence in 70 countries on five continents. Vestas’ wide and highly technologically advanced product range together with the company’s ability to offer customers the highest business case certainty have been two key differentiators.
“We are very pleased to announce this important agreement, which further strengthens our global presence and confirms our leading position in the wind industry worldwide. Being the only global company focused solely on wind technology, we are fully committed to ensure our customers the best return on investment in each wind project,” says Peter Wenzel Kruse, Senior Vice President, Vestas Wind Systems A/S.
The above order does not affect the Vestas Group’s expectations for 2010, ref. company announcement No. 29/2010 of 18 August 2010.
