Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced the second phase start of "the new action TOUR," a nationwide traveling event throughout Japan designed to provide people a first-hand experience with electric vehicles (EVs). Phase two kicks off August 21 in Saitama City with Mayor Hayato Shimizu.

The Saitama City event is presented in collaboration with NPOs and the city through the E-KIZUNA Project, a collaborative effort between the city and Nissan aimed at working towards the creation of a sustainable low-carbon society.

In addition to learning about Nissan LEAF, the 100 percent electric mid-size, five-door hatchback, visitors to the new action TOUR will learn about Nissan's vision to realize a zero-emission society. During the tour, a series of Nissan LEAF test rides and workshops will be conducted across the country, with the first phase of the tour starting July 31 in Kanagawa Prefecture.

The tour will move to other municipalities with which the Renault-Nissan Alliance has formed partnerships to jointly promote zero-emission mobility. Among these are Miyazaki Prefecture, Kita-Kyushu City, Kyoto City and Yokohama City.
