Beijing Reuters cited Zhao Yu-Wen, the vice president of Chinese Renewable Energy Society on 28th of December that China is expected to produce as many as 8 gigawatts, about half of global capacity in 2010.
Xinhuanet reported that people from the government related to the field claimed that in two years time demonstration installation will be at least 640 MW and nationwide PV installation will top 20000 MW by 2020.
Research shows that PV installation is estimated at 380 MW, which accounts for 3% of global installation volume in 2010. Though the progression seems slow, China is truly the largest world’s manufacturer of PV cells. Domestic market is still lagging in demand for end application.
