Reed Exhibitions Japan will be launching “Offshore Wind” and “Operation & Maintenance” zones at WIND EXPO 2015 – 3rd Int’l Wind Energy Expo and Conference. www.windexpo.jp/en/
With the effects of the new stand-alone feed-in-tariff (FIT) for offshore wind and the forecasted increase in the number of wind farms requiring maintenance from the installation boom in 2000, the business for offshore wind and operation and maintenance (O&M) related to wind energy are expected to expand in Japan. In order to provide a new platform for wind energy professionals to conduct business related to such categories, Reed Exhibitions Japan will be launching new “Offshore Wind” and “Operation & Maintenance” exhibit zones at the next edition of WIND EXPO.
Since the announcement of the launch, new and existing exhibitors are starting to confirm their participation in the new zones. Various categories of products, technologies and services specific to offshore wind and O&M are to be showcased such as firms related to meteorology of Japan, ocean development, Asia air survey, lightening proof CFRP, marine transport etc. To name a few, FUKUSHIMA OFF SHORE WIND CONSORTIUM, ELECTRIC MITSUI OCEAN DEVELOPMENT & ENGINEERING, CHUGOKU MARINE PAINTS, EKOHOU etc. will be exhibiting in the Offshore Wind zone and JFE MECHANICAL, EOS ENGINEERING AND SERVICE, FUJI DENKO etc. will be exhibiting in the Operation & Maintenance Zone.
The show itself has been successfully expanding since the launch in 2013 and is now recognised as Japan’s largest and only B-to-B trade show specialising in wind energy.
250 exhibitors including SIEMENS, ENERCON, SENVION, HITACHI, FUKUSHIMA OFF SHORE WIND CONSORTIUM, ZEPHUR, THE JAPAN STEEL WORKS, YASUKAWA, ELECTRIC MITSUI OCEAN DEVELOPMENT & ENGINEERING, OLYMPUS, FUJIKURA, JFE MECHANICAL, EOS ENGINEERING AND SERVICE, FUJI DENKO CHUGOKU MARINE PAINTS, EKOHOU etc. will exhibit and 70,000* professional visitors are to participate.
A 10% increase was seen in the last edition of the show but Reed Exhibitions Japan expects the show to expand even further in 2015 with the rise in the number of firms entering the wind energy industry and increasing involvement of overseas firms in the Japanese wind market. Evidently, the proportion of firms exhibiting from overseas has been increasing (14% from 2013 to 2014) and the show is becoming a hub to conduct business with wind energy related professionals in Japan. Reed Exhibitions Japan may need to expand the exhibition space for WIND EXPO 2015 to accommodate the increase in exhibitors joining the show.
As well as individual exhibitors, many countries will be exhibiting as a national pavilion gathering a number of exhibitors showcasing products and technologies unique to their country. For instance, Korea, USA, Netherlands and Denmark have already confirmed their participation as a pavilion, portraying their commitment to join the Japanese market.
In combination with the exhibition, comprehensive Technical Conference sessions (covering topics such as market outlook in Japan, global market trends, floating offshore wind turbines, bottom-fixed offshore wind turbines, gear-less wind turbines, earthquake disaster prevention strategies, O&M offshore O&M etc.) and networking events will be held. Thus making WIND EXPO 2015 an ideal venue for professionals to make further connections in the growing Japanese wind energy market and discover the latest trends to support the further growth of business between professionals in Japan, Asia and the World.
