About BCM 2013:
Build+Con Myanmar (BCM) 2013 will make its debut in Myanmar from 25 – 27 September 2013 at Myanmar Convention Centre, Yangon, Myanmar.
Myanmar’s construction industry is largely driven by residential and infrastructure sectors which accounts for almost 80% of the total industry’s value. As of September 2012, Myanmar’s construction industry was valued at close to US$3 billion, and is expected to achieve a 46% growth to US$4.2 billion by 2016. (Source: newcrossroadsasia.com)
Growth in the infrastructure sector is also expected to experience accelerated growth in the next five years due to the local government’s focus on developing infrastructure with the aim of supporting the nation’s growth at a fundamental level. (Source: newcrossroadsasia.com)
This makes Myanmar’s construction industry highly desirable for its projected growth and value. In addition, Myanmar boasts a relatively young population with low labour costs, and is also rich in natural resources such as petroleum, timber, zinc, copper, lead, coal and natural gases. The combination of these factors makes Myanmar the ideal market for the building and construction industries.
With only a small number of foreign companies in the market at present, BCM 2013 will present the ideal platform and opportunity to help businesses penetrate the market.
Companies will also be able to engage in technology advancement and knowledge transfer to help develop local businesses, which would in turn aid in the enhancement of efficiency and productivity of investing companies. The increased access to aid and trade could also provide Myanmar with the ability to realise its potential and develop further into the next emerging market in Southeast Asia.
Through BCM 2013, companies will be able to explore opportunities for business collaborations and interactions with local companies, as well as take a closer look at areas for investment in the local building and construction industries.
BCM 2013 will also be held concurrently with Myanmar Manufacturing Expo 2013, the first international manufacturing machinery, equipment and technology exhibition. Together, these two exhibitions will provide a one-stop platform to source for all building, construction and manufacturing needs.
The exhibitions will expect 100 exhibitors from 20 countries and over 8,000 trade visitors and professionals.
BCM 2013 is organised by Conference & Exhibition Management Services Pte Ltd, with the Specialists Trade Alliance of Singapore as its strategic partner.
