Work Begins on Indonesia’s First and Southeast Asia’s Largest Floating PV Project

Reuters and other news agencies reported on August 3 that construction has commenced for the 145MW Cirata floating PV power plant in Indonesia. This project was formally given the go ahead after the Indonesian public utility Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) and UAE-based renewable energy developer Masdar had agreed on the terms of financing. The boards of directors of the American Clean Power Association (ACP) and the US Energy Storage Association (ESA) have voted to merge the two trade groups, thereby combining their staff, programs, and members under a single entity. ACP and ESA are nation-wide organizations that represent major energy companies and lobby state legislatures and the Congress. American PV module manufacturers Suniva and Auxin Solar are reportedly to have sent a petition to the US International Trade Commission (ITC) asking for an extension of the enforcement of the Section 201 tariffs. Czech Republic Plans to Spend US$2.4 Billion to Support Development of Local EV Battery Production

News agencies in Europe have reported that the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade and ČEZ Group signed a memorandum of understanding indicating that they will be working together to help establish a local EV battery manufacturing plant. The memorandum was signed on July 27, and it entails a project investment of around US$2.4 billion.
