California is set to cancel its years-long net metering policy, which allows photovoltaic panel owners to sell their excess electricity to the electrical grid in order to shave off a few dollars from their electrical bills. Spanish engineering firm Global Dominion Access announced in early December that it has conducted a capital increase for its renewable energy unit Dominion Energy. Specifically, Dominion Energy will receive a capital injection from its parent company and take on a new minority partner. The Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) of the UK government formally opened the fourth round of low-carbon energy project tenders under its contract for difference (CfD) scheme on December 13.
