Premium and Premium incell modules of Solar-Fabrik resist hailstones unharmed up to a diameter of 3 centimeters. All Premium modules are therefore included in the hail protection register of Switzerland and Austria under the protection class 3.
The Swiss Association of the Cantonal Fire Insurances „Vereinigung Kantonaler Feuerversicherungen“ (VKF) certified that Premium and Premium incell modules of Solar-Fabrik are part of to the hail protection class 3. The modules survived the test of a hail simulation machine, using standardized hailstones produced by a laboratory. Solar-Fabrik’s Premium modules are now registered under protection class 3, confirming that hailstones with a diameter up to 3 cm leave the modules unharmed.
The significant increase of damage by hailstones motivated the VKF to launch the hail protection register. It classifies building materials according to their resistance against hailstones. This tool supports constructors and construction professionals when choosing the right products and gives them additional security.
