According to Wechat Official Account @pv-news, Solex of Gujarat, India, has announced that it has officially started the construction of 2GW n-type TOPCon solar cell production base, and plans to realize the production and operation at the beginning of 2027. It is understood that the land for the project has been successfully obtained.
Chetan Shah, chairman and general manager of Solex, revealed that the production base is an integrated solar cell and module manufacturing plant, which will be complemented by a 2GW TOPCon module production line in the future.
This project is significant for Solex's capacity expansion. Currently, Solex's annual module production capacity has reached 1.5GW, and the company plans to drive a 2.5GW module production line into operation by September 2025, when total annual module production capacity will rise to 4GW.
In terms of long-term development plan, Solex has an ambitious target to increase the cumulative module production capacity to 15GW and cell production capacity to 5GW by the end of this century, so as to continue to strengthen the competitiveness of the market in the field of photovoltaic.
