On September 10, according to a foreign media report, DyCm Power, LLC (“DyCm Power”), a joint venture formed by Das & Co., LLC and APC Holdings, LLC, announced that it plans to partner with Macquarie Capital to develop an $800 million (equivalent to RMB 5.7 billion) solar cell and module manufacturing facility within the United States.
The plant, which is expected to be commercially operational in the first half of 2026, is expected to have an annual capacity of 2GW of cells and modules at start-up, before expanding to 6GW.
Reports indicate that DyCm Power's integrated facility will be used to produce advanced TopCon cells and modules, which are expected to begin shipping in the first half of 2026.DyCm Power is currently completing the site selection process in the southeastern United States.
DYCM Power is a U.S. joint venture formed by investor APC Holdings and real estate firm Das & Co.
The company has signed a supply agreement with a “leading U.S. polysilicon supplier” and a memorandum of understanding with a North American glass manufacturer, but has yet to provide further details on these deals. Other partners include Mortenson, an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm that will manage the construction of the plant; and ECM Greentech Engineering, which will manufacture the silicon cells and assemble the solar modules.
The news follows growing interest in the U.S. manufacturing sector. According to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and Wood Mackenzie, solar manufacturing capacity in the US has almost tripled in the last two years.
